Welcome to the City of Liberty, Missouri
One of the oldest cities in Missouri, Liberty offers a
charming downtown square, five local historic districts, three museums, and
many buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.
Liberty’s community character is both historic and
progressive as reflected in the seamless transition from the thriving downtown
square business area to the bustle of new housing developments and adjacent
growth of retail, commercial and industrial areas.
Liberty offers an
abundance of recreational and cultural opportunities at the Liberty Community
Center and the Liberty
Performing Arts Theater, the annual Liberty Heritage Festival (formerly
Spring on the Square) and the Fall Festival, and more than 500 acres of park land that
includes trails, spraygrounds, tennis courts, playgrounds and more. The
nationally recognized Fountain
Bluff Sports Complex offers eight baseball
softball fields, one championship baseball field, six soccer fields,
playgrounds and two miles of walking trails.
Liberty is home of the nationally recognized William Jewell College,
Liberty Public School District and St. James parochial school.
The City of Liberty is dedicated to community excellence
through its proud recognition of the past, confident celebration of today and
progressive view of the future.
