Last year, owners of more than 84 dogs and cats were able to use this reduced cost program to spay or neuter their animals. This helps to reduce the birth of unwanted litters of puppies and kittens, which in turn helps to reduce the number of homeless pets and the number of pets turned in to the Liberty Animal Shelter. This program is part of the 24th Annual World Spay Day, presented by the Humane Society on the last Tuesday of February each year.
