The Liberty Arts Commission invites the public to visit the City Hall art gallery to view the paintings of Kevin Callahan and Carol Sweetwood.
Sweetwood is a self-taught multi-medium artist who lives and works from her home studio in Liberty. She began showing and selling her work about 15 years ago mainly at private shows, art galleries and boutiques. Currently many of her original oils, prints and cards are available at The Artisan Market, 115 N. Main Liberty Mo.
Sweetwood characterizes herself as a lover of color and detail. She prefers to work in oil but has also created art in Watercolor, Pastel, Colored Pencil and Acrylic.
Callahan, who currently lives in Parkville, Mo., follows a simple philosophy: Composition, Story, Elegant Line.
He produces works in a variety of mediums, which include painting, sculpting, photography, crafts, and writing. He has studied with world renown Israeli artist Larry Abramson and at the Ox-Bow School of the Art Institute Chicago under Phil Hanson and Michelle Grabner.
The City Hall gallery, located at 101 E. Kansas, is open on regular business days from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. This exhibit will be on display through Sept. 15.
