This new, 12-week program is designed for people who have never run before, or are ready for a new start, and will take you from couch potato to 5K runner by the end of the summer! The training culminates in the Jesse James Run on Sept. 10, which is included in the package price. Workouts include a warm up and early workouts alternate walking and running, with emphasis on walking, and work up to 5K. Workouts will last about 30 minutes at the beginning, and will get a little longer as we progress. Each workout is followed by a yoga stretch / cool-down of 10-15 minutes.
This class combines mental focus with deliberate graceful movements that improve strength, agility, flexibility, coordination and challenges balance. Tai Chi can help lower blood pressure, improve balance and reduce fall frequency.
